Activ Power and Sail

Issue No. 1

We're back - bigger & better (and with a new name!)

Photo 1Formerly Rib and Yacht Charter Solutions, we're delighted to share with you our new company name ‘ Activ power+sail ' and our impressive, new branding – it's big, it's bold and it's very red! Why red? Well, not only is red striking and eye-catching but it also represents desire, love and passion – hence our strap line ‘Share our passion'.

A big thank you to our brand design partners Idea, www.actionidea.com they've done a fantastic job and our image now positions us where we want to be – the best! Other than a couple of additions to the team, we're still the same bunch of sailors looking to 'share our passion'. We've had a very successful season delivering rewarding and fun power+sail events to existing and new customers, but our customers haven't had all the fun - the new 'Addiction Race Team' have had some fantastic results, read on for more info. and look out for us at the Beneteau 40.7 Nationals.

Please take a few moments to read what we've been up to and explore our new web site. www.activpowerandsail.co.uk

Activ & the Addiction Race Team prove their racing pedigree

Photo 1Our latest acquisition, a top specification Beneteau 40.7 named ‘Addiction' has created a storm on the regatta circuit with numerous wins in her first season. Principally a race charter boat, she has been consistently well placed on the race charter circuit.

With so much racing passion and experience in Activ, and not wishing to let our customers have all the fun, we set up the ‘Addiction Race Team'. The team, comprised mainly of Weir Wood Sailing Club members, raced at a number of key events throughout the year and made a stir with some great results:

 - Red Funnel Easter Regatta - 2nd in class (equal 1st on points)

 - Beneteau Cup - overall winner in fleet of over 50 yachts (we are rather proud of beating the overall Cowes Week Black Group winner 'Loveshack')

 - Winner Anglo Irish Regatta.

 Little Britain Challenge Cup 2007

Photo 1Yet, another successful Little Britain Challenge Cup took place between the 6th and 8th September in Cowes - this regatta continues to grow ever more popular. Once again, Activ power+sail were pleased to be providing a multitude of yachts, powerboats and RIBs to existing and new customers. We had five boats competing in the Beneteau 40.7 class, with Ellmer Construction achieving their best result to date, 2nd in class and the Byrne Bros, in their first year, finishing a fantastic 5th. Well done to all our other clients who finished in the top half of the fleet. Another notable result was the Apres Systems team who chartered a J-109 for this event in their first year and finished 5th in Class 3 – a great result and one that has spurred them on to participate ‘bigger and better' for next year, so watch out!

In the cruising divisions WF Electrical (Class 6) and Edmundson Electrical (Class 7) both competed in Jeanneau 452's and scored very well against some stiff competition scoring 12th and 7th in class respectively.

Activ power+sail are pleased to continue supplying the Bryne Group (LBCC Gold Sponsors) with their regatta requirements, including yachts, RIBs, powerboats, branding and catering for all their on the water corporate entertainment. Judging by the number of happy faces aboard, everyone had a great time.

Champagne Mumm prize partner

Photo 1Activ is pleased to announce that it has agreed a partnership with G.H.Mumm to provide all the company's Champagne requirements.
Officially known as the ‘ Champagne of sailing', G.H.Mumm Champagne was an obvious partner of choice for Activ. With a history dedicated to providing ‘Only the best', the brand shares the company's values of passion and dynamism in the pursuit of excellence.
G.H. Mumm Champagne will form the basis for prizes at regattas, team-building events and the newly created Activ Referral Reward Scheme (see below). In addition, G.H.Mumm will be the preferred Champagne for the wide range of corporate hospitality events that Activ organise.
To celebrate the new partnership, which coincides with the launch of the new Activ web site, Activ will be hosting an informal Champagne reception for participants at the Beneteau National Championships in Yarmouth.
