The mainsheet, genoa and spinnaker trimmers are the unsung heroes of a racing yacht's speed through the water, they help the helmsman steer the yacht through the many tacks, gybes and spinnaker hoists around the race course.
It's fair to say that sometimes sail trimmers often have more control over the direction of the boat than the helm, especially when the wind is reasonably strong.
