The largest industry regatta
The LBCC is the largest corporate yachting regatta in Europe, attracting the biggest UK gathering of senior figureheads from the construction and property industry. The 2007 event saw the highest number of entries since the competition’s inception in 1988 with 251 boats taking part and over 3,000 people racing.

Activ involvement
2007 represented the greatest investment the Byrne Group have made to date in the event. As well as their Gold sponsorship, the Group arranged their racing and hospitality requirements through Activ power+sail, this included:
· 7 pre-event race training days
· 3 top-specification Beneteau 40.7 racing yachts, chartered for the group’s associates - Ellmer Construction, Byrne Bros. and the Chorus Group
· First class hospitality onboard a Squadron 55 motor cruiser
· Event support RIB
· High-speed RIB rides
· Full corporate branding applied to the yachts plus battle flags and spinnaker
· Professional skippers for each yacht
· 24 hour maintenance crew including a boat builder, sail maker and rigger
Impressive results
Ellmer Construction achieved their best result to date, 2nd in class (5th last year) and the Byrne Bros, in their first year racing a Beneteau 40.7, finishing a fantastic 5th.
The Future
The Byrne Group will continue its support of the Little Britain Challenge Cup as Gold sponsors for the next 3 years. The crews are highly ambitious to achieve even higher rankings in their racing classes.
