An obvious choice
Digiterre understand the value of team-building and has, since its inception, successfully used sailing as a way of developing relationships between staff and with clients. Over time, more and more clients and partners of Digiterre began talking about running a sailing event exclusively for members of the Hedge Fund community whereupon the Digiterre Hedge Fund Regatta was born.
To make the event successful Digiterre identified the need for a partner to help run the shore-side activities and all water-side aspects of the event. Event offer and objectives
The aims of the event are to raise money for charity within the context of a competitive sailing event that fosters team-building, networking and a competitive spirit among members of the hedge fund community.
Participating companies benefit from being part of an exclusive forum for companies who work within or who supply to, the alternative investment industry and the chance to build relationships and socialise with convivial, like-minded people.
The event offers competitive, exhilarating sailing on high-spec racing yachts. People of all sailing abilities are able to experience the excitement of safe, close-quarters racing under the leadership of a professional skipper and bow crew. In addition, and just as important, the event offers a superb programme of après-sail activities ensuring plenty of networking while partying onshore.
Event logistics
Racing takes place in the Solent, near Southampton and is run by officials at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club (RSYC). The regatta is based at the RSYC in Ocean Village and après-sail events take place in both the Yacht Club and nearby venues.
The Future
Entries for the 2007 event were double that for the previous year and the 2008 which will run over July 3rd and 4th will involve at least 20 yachts and 200 people. The Digiterre Hedge Fund Regatta is now firmly established as a key event within the alternative finance industry calendar.
