The Team

Paul Jenkins (Managing Director) Activ Power and SailPaul Jenkins (Managing Director)

Paul’s business background is engineering, in particular 3D modelling. His lifelong passion has always been sailing. Dinghy sailing from the age of 4, he progressed to competitive dinghy and yacht racing. Paul is a commercially endorsed Yachtmaster. With such a keen boating interest, setting up his own power and sail company was a foregone conclusion and hence Activ power+sail was born.

Simon’s corporate background is in operations, business turnaround and strategic change. He is the “fastest” member of the team as he manages and operates the Activ RIB fleet. A sailor since the age of 8 he has worked both in the USA and Caribbean on privately owned yachts and motor vessels. He can regularly be spotted around the Solent at 40mph leaping the waves in one of the Activ RIB’s.

Ernie is a man of many talents. A toolmaker and machine tool designer by trade, he also managed a printing company for 30 years. His ‘hobbies’ include DIY (loft conversions etc.) but his main passion is dinghy racing (505’s and RS400’s). He is proud to have somehow managed to drag along his family in his sailing footsteps. Ernie is positioned on spinnaker and genoa trim in the ‘Addiction Race Team’.

Charley joined us in 2008 and has proved to be a great asset keeping our events running smoothly.  With a background in international high-goal polo, organising both players and ponies,Charley certainly knows how to multi task!  After all the planning, she's always keen to escape the office, meet our clients face to face and get out on to the water.

Claire has recently joined us as Marketing Manager having completed her CIM Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing last year.  She is a driven and determined lady who has now had her first rib experience which we know won’t be her last!  She’s looking forward to working with the rest of the Activ team to plan and deliver exceptional events.
