Cork Week

Cork Week 2008 dates 12th July until 18th July

This biannual regatta is held at the Royal Cork Yacht Club, Crosshaven, attracting an average fleet of 300 boats, made up of both corporate and private charter yachts. Run by sailors, for sailors, Cork Week is considered as the best socialising regatta and has the reputation as one of the biggest and best regattas is the world.

The secret of the Cork Week's success cannot be attributed to any one rule or aspect of its organisation. Its success is found in the eclectic mix of classes, competitors, good courses, good company and the good humour of over 10,000 visitors.

There is a unique variety of racing available for each fleet. Every day presents a different course for the fleets with the exception of the One Design Sportsboat Classes who have a separate One Design course designated to them. The courses consist of the infamous, scenic and tactical, Harbour course, Windward/Leeward course, Olympic type course, Coastal course and Trapezoid Course.
