Since its inaugural race in 1931, sailors have sought to win the legendary Gold Roman Bowl prize. Known today as the JPMorgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, it has become one of the world's biggest races. Over 1600 yachts of varying sizes with 10,000 sailors - from novices to professionals - compete on a handicap basis that enables everyone a shot at the trophy.

 

The Race is hosted by the Island Sailing Club in Cowes, with racing taking place in the Solent.
