IRC is the leading handicap system used worldwide. The Beneteau First 34.7 is unique in that it was designed in collaboration between Beneteau and Farr Yacht Design to be a specific IRC-focused cruiser/racer. The latest construction technology and innovative design have been used to produce a race-winning boat, whilst maintaining the importance of comfortable accommodation.

The yacht features a large open ergonomic cockpit for smooth crew work, an unusually large steering wheel for precision and sensitivity on the helm and a Saildrive 2YM20 engine to minimise drag.

Simplified handling with top performance is guaranteed with the boat's:
- optimised centre of gravity design
- composite lead/cast iron keel positioned forward and low
- retractable bowsprit
- asymmetric spinnaker and maximised sail area.

Below deck
Inside there is a private owner’s cabin, separate heads, chart table and L-shaped galley making her cruiser friendly after the regatta.
