IMX 40

Designed by X-Yachts of Denmark, the IMX 40 is a modern, real performance Racer/Cruiser from a boat builder with a lineage of successful designs. X-Yacht's objective was to build an outright sporting racer/cruiser, with top level racing as an absolute first priority.
Described as having the 'performance and handling of a grand prix racer, but the comfort and accommodation of a cruiser', this yacht is ideal to make the step up into top class racing while offering comfortable accommodation for up to 10 people.
The IMX 40 was the first European built off shore 40 footer made to "State of art" specification. The level of detail given to the general finish and the technique of building, separates this boat from any ordinary cruiser/racer. Its standard, high specification design includes:
-
a carbon mast and boom
-
'into deck', recessed running of the main sheet
-
a large diameter carbon wheel
-
effective, clever positioning of the deck hardware
-
a vacuum bagged hull/deck
-
composite rudder and rudderstock
-
an adjustable keel configuration via an "easily dismountable/remountable" keel bulb.
Below deck
There are three cabins with a large vee-berth forward with double access heads which has provision for a shower. The saloon is large and airy with a number of opening ports and has two berths that act as seats and the seat backs flip up to form sea berths. The navigation station is to port, with a well equipped galley to starboard with a stove and a fridge. There is further access to the aft cabins through doors to large double berths both port and starboard, these have pipe-cots above giving more sea berths.
