The J-109 has proven to be a perfect boat for UK waters. It is stable, easy to sail, and a proven performance boat that is large enough and fast enough to race offshore or to cruise to Ireland or the continent. The boat design includes a great dual-purpose deck layout and a low CofG lead keel and balanced rudder (set in self aligning bearings) which make the boat faster and easier to manage than its rivals. All in all, it's one of the most versatile and competitive 35 footers afloat and it is ideal for racing.

The standard racing equipment onboard is of the highest specification:

  • rod rigging with a hydraulic backstay tensioner
  • high quality Harken winches and deck gear
  • carbon fibre retractable bowsprit
  • asymmetric spinnaker system

Below deck

The interior is European style with two private sleeping cabins and an option for a pull-out double in the large main cabin. The “L” shaped galley includes a double sink, two burner propane stove and a pressure water system. The navigation station is a large, sit-down, forward-facing console with abundant space for instrument displays. The heada sre conveniently located aft near the companionway, providing easy access from the cockpit while underway.
